Frequently Asked Questions

Most intro dives take you to one type of site. This package gives you two on the same trip — a shipwreck and a coral reef.

Dive 1 — Shipwreck: a sunken vessel on the seabed, with fish living in and around the structure.

Dive 2 — Coral reef: a natural reef with corals and the fish that live on it.

Two different underwater environments in one morning, both run as guided dives for absolute beginners.
Your day, step by step

Welcome & briefing: You meet the FlyingFish Scuba School team. Your instructor covers the basics — hand signals, how the equipment works, and how the two dives will go.

Boat ride: A boat ride from the jetty out towards Grande Island, with views of the Goan coastline on the way.

Gearing up: Your instructor helps you into your equipment — buoyancy vest (BCD), regulator, mask, and fins — and checks the fit.

Dive 1 — the shipwreck (approx. 20 mins): You enter the warm Arabian Sea with your instructor and descend together once you're comfortable breathing at the surface. The instructor stays beside you, often holding on, while you explore the outside of a shallow, beginner-friendly wreck and watch the fish gathered around it.

Surface interval: Back on the boat for refreshments and a rest. We may move the boat to the reef during this break.

Dive 2 — the coral reef (approx. 20 mins): Back underwater with your instructor for the second dive. The reef is livelier and more colourful than the wreck — coral and schools of bright fish swimming past.

Return: After the second dive we head back to shore.

What the two dives feel like
The two dives are very different. The wreck dive is quiet — a submerged structure with marine life that has settled into it, sometimes larger fish sheltering inside. The reef dive is the opposite: lots of colour and movement, smaller fish like parrotfish, angelfish, and butterflyfish, and coral in every shape (look, don't touch). Breathing underwater and floating weightless is the part most people remember.
How we keep it safe
We run the same safety standards on both dives, wreck included:

Your instructor is physically with you the whole time, on both dives.

Dives stay shallow — typically a maximum of 12 meters (40 feet).

We explore the outside of the wreck only. We never enter overhead spaces.

You get a clear briefing on the procedures before you enter the water.

The scuba gear is well maintained and checked before use.

Goa for a varied first dive
Goa's coastline suits this kind of two-dive trip — shallow wrecks sit close to natural reefs, so we can show you both in one outing. The sea is usually calm and warm through the season (October-May), which makes for easy diving if it's your first time.

This Wreck & Reef program is a good fit if you are:

• A beginner who wants more than a single standard intro dive.

• Interested in both shipwrecks and coral reefs.

• In Goa looking for a half-day activity.

• A couple or group wanting to do it together.

• Keen to try scuba diving in a safe, guided way.

A few details to know:

• This is a first dive experience, not a certification course.

• It includes two guided dives, about 20 minutes each.

• No prior swimming or diving experience is needed.

• Minimum age is 10 years (please confirm when booking).

If two dives sound better than one, this is the package to book. Our team will guide you through both sites and you keep the photos and video.
