Poor buoyancy is the biggest issue new divers face. It burns through your air, drags you into the reef, and leaves you tired after every dive. This bundle fixes that by pairing the Open Water certification with the Perfect Buoyancy specialty. From your very first certified dives, you hover at depth without touching the reef.
Over 4–5 days at Grand Island, Goa, you complete the full SSI Open Water certification: confined water sessions covering 30+ skills, and 4 open water certification dives. You leave with an internationally recognised digital certification card, valid for life, and the fundamental skills to dive safely to 18 metres with a buddy.
The SSI Perfect Buoyancy specialty is all about neutral buoyancy, the skill that separates a competent diver from one who looks completely at home underwater. You learn to fine-tune your weight system, control depth with your breathing, hover motionless at any depth, and move with minimal fin kicks. At Grand Island you practise these skills in real dive conditions alongside your Open Water training.
Perfect Buoyancy sticks best when you learn it right after Open Water, before bad habits set in. Do both in Goa and good buoyancy becomes second nature. Our dive guides will tell you the same thing: divers with good buoyancy see more marine life, use less air, and have a far better time down there.
