FlyingFish is a scuba diving school and the official partner of Goa Tourism (GTDC). We're based at the Novotel Resort & Spa in Candolim, and we run the diving at GTDC Calangute Residency as the exclusive operator there, trusted by the Government of Goa.
What sets us apart is simple: more time underwater. Most operators run 10–15 minute dives. Our guided dives at Grand Island last a full 40 minutes, three times the industry average. A dive shouldn't feel rushed.

FlyingFish started with a leap of faith. Our founder, Amitabh Gautam, spent over 25 years in Indian television news. He helped launch some of India's first TV newsrooms, then built a media production company that made shows for National Geographic and Sony TV.
At 42, worn down by the pace of deadlines, he took a paragliding course and happened to meet a scuba instructor from Goa. Two years later he tried his first Open Water dive and was hooked. By 48 he had left the media behind to follow the ocean.
In 2016 he opened FlyingFish Scuba School, a place where anyone, first-timers and families included, could safely get into the water for the first time. Within three seasons, FlyingFish earned a spot on TripAdvisor's "10 Best India Scuba & Snorkeling Activities".
Today, as an official partner of Goa Tourism (GTDC) and the exclusive dive operator at GTDC Calangute Residency, the goal hasn't changed: get more people underwater, one dive at a time.

Non-swimmers are welcome. Our first-time dive experiences are designed for absolute beginners. Your instructor stays by your side throughout the entire dive.
We follow ethical ocean practices and take part in SSI's Blue Oceans program. Every Thursday is Trash-Free Thursday, when we head out and clean up what we can.

FlyingFish is a place for everyone, from first-timers to families and adventurers, to get into the water for the first time. The school runs certified SSI courses and puts a lot of energy into bringing on young divers.
As the Impact Navigator of FlyingFish, Amitabh sets the school's direction. He keeps an eye on everything from training to the eco-friendly projects, and on the effect it all has on guests, the team, and the ocean.

Born and raised in the Andaman Islands, Richie grew up around the ocean. He took his first dive at 13 and never looked back. Before diving full-time he had a solid career as a sound engineer, touring, producing, and mastering tracks. But no matter how good the mix, the ocean kept calling.
In 2023, Richie swapped soundboards for scuba tanks and took up diving as a profession. He did his Instructor Training Course (ITC) at Dive India, one of India's most respected dive centres, then spent time teaching and diving Indonesia's reefs before joining FlyingFish Scuba School.
Now in his second season with FlyingFish, Richie has logged over 3,000 dives and certified more than 100 divers. He's known for a calm, easygoing teaching style and a real respect for the ocean. Whether he's guiding first-timers or mentoring future pros, he's good at getting people comfortable below the surface.
When he's not underwater, Richie loves cooking up something special or spinning a sunset set behind the decks. His life blends creativity, rhythm, and the freedom that comes with following your passion wherever it leads.

Aaron started diving back in 2007, and the ocean's been his home ever since. By 2012, he'd turned his passion into a profession, becoming a certified Scuba Instructor.
Since then he's run over 4,000 Discover Scuba Diving experiences and certified more than 150 divers across Open Water and Specialty courses.
Aaron is also a scuba technician, the person you want around when your gear needs expert hands and a calm head. He's happiest exploring a shipwreck or peering through coral for the tiny macro critters most people swim straight past.
His dive log covers the Andamans, Maldives, Thailand, Malaysia, and Australia, and each place added something to how he dives.
At FlyingFish Scuba School, Aaron brings patience, precision, and a sense of fun that keeps every dive safe and enjoyable.

Before he found diving, Dinesh worked in the corporate world at Tech Mahindra. The screens and structure of BPO life didn't sit well with his appetite for adventure, and in 2016 he tried diving. What started as a hobby quickly became a passion, and eventually a career.
In 2023, Dinesh made the move to professional Dive Master. Since then he's logged over 3,000 dives, guided countless guests, and become one of the most dependable people on the FlyingFish Scuba School team. Whether it's organising gear, sorting out logistics, or helping nervous divers feel safe, Dinesh is the one who gets it done.

Sunil is the quiet force that keeps everything running at FlyingFish Scuba School. He fills tanks, loads gear onto trucks and boats, sets up the pool, and handles surface support on every dive, so instructors and divers can just get on with the diving.
Off the dive deck he has another talent: cooking meals that keep the team fed and happy. Sunil works behind the scenes, but he's the backbone of every dive and course we run.
