No. Swimming ability is not required for the SSI Try Scuba experience. Your instructor stays with you 1:1 throughout the dive. You just need to be comfortable being in water — if you can float, you can dive.
The Try Scuba 20 Min dive goes to a maximum of 6–10 metres (about 30 feet). That depth is enough to see reef, fish, and coral clearly. Your instructor controls the descent and will not take you deeper than you are comfortable with.
Minimum age is 10 years. Participants under 18 require a signed parental consent form. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian on the day.
Yes. All dives take place in shallow, calm water with 1:1 instructor supervision. Equipment is professional-grade and inspected before each session. Every participant is covered by a 10 lakh rupee boat-ride insurance policy.
Your instructor is physically beside you at all times. You will learn a simple thumbs-up signal during the briefing — use it anytime to surface. The instructor can slow down, hold your equipment, or bring you up immediately if needed. Many first-timers feel a little nervous initially, but most settle within the first few minutes.
The dive season in Goa runs October to May. February and March have the best visibility — often 15 metres or more. Avoid the monsoon months (June–September) when diving is not possible.
