SSI Open Water Diver | Scuba Diving in Goa

The SSI Open Water Diver Course is the world’s most popular and widely recognized scuba certification — your passport to the underwater world! Designed for complete beginners, this course teaches you everything you need to dive safely and confidently. Our expert SSI instructors guide you through three key phases: knowledge development (online theory), confined water training (pool practice), and open water dives in the Arabian Sea. By the end, you’ll be a certified diver ready to explore the ocean up to 18 meters (60 feet) with a buddy, anywhere in the world.

Phase 1 – Knowledge Building: Learn diving physics, physiology, equipment care, dive planning, safety rules, and environmental awareness through SSI’s digital learning platform — available on your phone, tablet, or computer at your own pace.

Phase 2 – Confined Water Training: Take your first breaths underwater in a pool or calm water setting. You’ll master essential skills like buoyancy control, mask clearing, regulator recovery, finning, and buddy safety procedures under instructor supervision.

Phase 3 – Open Water Dives: Apply everything you’ve learned in four open water dives around Goa. Start in shallow waters (12 meters/40 feet) and progress to deeper dives (up to 18 meters/60 feet). You’ll practice navigation, buoyancy, and safety drills while exploring vibrant reefs and marine life in the Arabian Sea.

After completing the theory, confined water sessions, and open water dives, you’ll receive your SSI Open Water Diver digital certification — globally recognized and valid for life. This certification allows you to:

Rent or buy scuba equipment anywhere in the world.

Get air fills from dive centers.
