Welcome to FlyingFish Scuba School! We're thrilled to introduce you to our comprehensive SSI Open Water Diver course, designed for individuals eager to begin their underwater adventures.
Our SSI Open Water Diver course is meticulously crafted to provide you with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for safe and enjoyable diving. With a combination of classroom sessions, pool training, and open water dives, you'll gain the confidence and expertise needed to explore the underwater world independently alongside a buddy of similar certification.
Upon successful completion of the course, you'll earn the prestigious SSI Open Water Diver certification card, recognized worldwide. This certification signifies your readiness to dive up to a maximum depth of 18 meters (60 feet) and opens up a world of possibilities for underwater exploration.
Full course includes:
Training Standards: Minimum Age: 10
Certification Prerequisites: Fit to swim, No certification prerequisites
Amount of Academic Sessions: 5
Amount of Pool/Confined Water Sessions: 5
Amount of Open Water Dives: Minimum of 4 dives
Maximum Training Depth: 18 m / 60 ft

Day 1: Academics + Confined Water Dives
Morning: 8:00 AM
- Welcome & Orientation: Introduction to the course and team.
- Paperwork
- Equipment overview
- Knowledge Development:
- Classroom or eLearning review
- Key topics: diving physics, dive planning, equipment use, and safety
10:30 AM
- Confined Water training 1-3 (Shallow Pool/Calm Water):
- Skill practice: regulator recovery, mask clearing, buoyancy, hand signals, etc.
- Introduction to assembling and disassembling scuba gear.
- Breathing and finning techniques.
Day 2: Open Water Dives 1 & 2 + Knowledge Review
Morning: 8:30 AM
- Open Water Dive 1:
- Max depth: ~12 meters (40 feet) or less
- Focus: Comfort underwater, basic skills, buoyancy practice.
- Open Water Dive 2:
- Max depth: 12-15 meters (~40-50 feet)
- Focus: Additional underwater skills like navigation, underwater communication, and safety procedures.
Afternoon: 3:00 AM
- Knowledge Development:
- Review any outstanding academics.
- Quick quizzes to confirm understanding of dive theory.
Day 3: Open Water Dives 3 & 4 + Final Wrap-Up
Morning: 8:00 AM
- Open Water Dive 3:
- Max depth: Up to 18 meters (60 feet)
- Focus: Advanced buoyancy, underwater problem-solving.
- Open Water Dive 4 (Final Dive):
- Explore underwater and practice independence.
- Demonstrate mastery of all essential skills.
Afternoon: 3:00 PM
- Final Exam & Debriefing:
- Complete certification paperwork.
- Discuss continuing education or upcoming dives!
- Certification presentation.
Inclusions:
Wetsuit (3mm): Full-body suit, 3mm thickness
Scuba Equipment Rental: Full set of scuba gear
Confined Water Dives: Dives in a controlled environment for training
Open Water Dives: Guided dives in open water to practice skills and explore marine life Weights/Weight Belt/Tank(s): Dive weights, weight belt, and tanks
Mask/Snorkel: Diving mask and snorkel
Fins (Full Foot): Full-foot fins for propulsion
BCD (Buoyancy Control Device): Device for controlling buoyancy underwater
Regulator: Device for breathing underwater
Video and Photo Service (Paid): Professional video and photo service (additional fee)
