The SSI Marine Ecology program is designed for divers and non-divers who want to enhance their understanding of marine ecosystems. This course enables participants to gain in-depth knowledge of marine life, their habitats, and how to protect these ecosystems.

Course Overview

1. Theoretical Course
   At Flying Fish, we provide detailed theory sessions available in English. You’ll learn about:
• Marine ecosystem functions
• Biodiversity of aquatic organisms
• Coral reefs, seagrasses, and mangrove systems
• Threats to marine ecosystems, such as climate change and pollution
• Conservation strategies to protect marine life
  Our knowledgeable instructors ensure the course content is engaging and informative, answering all your questions during classroom discussions.

1. Practical Applications (not included in the course, can opt for it)
   For certified divers, the course may include optional shallow water or dive-based observation sessions. These give students a chance to:
• Observe marine ecosystems in natural surroundings
• Practice sustainable interaction with marine life
• Identify species using field guides

1. Interactive Activities
   Participants will engage in activities such as:
• Mapping marine habitats
• Watching educational videos with discussion breaks
• Analyzing real-world conservation success stories

Certification

Upon completing the course, participants will receive an SSI Marine Ecology Specialty certification directly on the MySSI app. This recognition highlights your knowledge of marine ecosystems and makes you an advocate for ocean protection.
