The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course expands on the fundamental abilities taught in the Open Water Diver Course, allowing divers to expand their knowledge and ability in scuba diving. It comprises of five dives, two of which are required: a deep dive of 30 meters (100 feet) and a navigation dive. The diver selects the remaining three dives from a list of alternatives including drift diving, peak performance buoyancy, underwater photography, fish identification, night diving, search and recovery, and wreck diving, among others.
This training gives divers useful experiences at several dive locations, helping them comprehend the underwater environment and improve their abilities. The course normally takes 2-3 days to complete and needs a minimum age of 12 years, with maximum depths determined by the diver's age. Enrolling in the Advanced Open Water Diver Course requires completion of the Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification.
